TMVP Parliamentarian Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna appealed to the Tamil Diaspora, to refrain from helping LTTE Chief Velupillai Prabhakaran who was using innocent people as a shield against the military.

Addressing a meeting at Akkaraipattu in Alavadiwembu, Karuna stated that the government Forces have captured 99% of land in the north, and the remaining area would be captured within a short period.”The government has embarked on the development of the East and is anxious to extend the same to the north in an attempt to usher in freedom to the people of the north,” MP Karuna emphasised. After opening a public market, Ayurveda centre, hospital building and a co-op city in Alavadiwembu, Karuna also said special programmes would be launched for the benefit of children displaced by war and tsunami devastation.“The President’s endeavour to solve the problems of Tamil community has won their confidence,” he added.
