Peter
Hill orders Oman Air to fly in to Colombo in October
Oman
Air, the national carrier of Oman, will fly non-stop
to four more destinations in Europe and Asia in 2009.
They include Frankfurt and Paris in the West and Colombo
and Male in the East.
Peter Hill, Oman Airs chief executive officer,
said: August marks the commencement of our wide-body
fleet acquisition plan when we take delivery of the
first of seven brand new Airbus A330 aircraft.
With the introduction of these services we will
be providing a massive increase in capacity from Europe
to Oman, designed to boost the countrys rapidly
growing appeal to the discerning traveller, he
said.
This year Oman Air will take delivery of two Airbus
A330-200 aircraft in a two-class Business and Economy
layout, and two Airbus A330-300 aircraft featuring First,
Business and Economy classes.
Barry Brown, vice president commercial, said: We
will commence flights to Frankfurt on September 17 initially
with six services per week and we will inaugurate services
to Paris on October 11 with four flights per week. Sri
Lanka and The Maldives will commence on October 12 with
four weekly services offering convenient connections
to not only Paris and Frankfurt but also our daily London
