Peter Hill orders Oman Air to fly in to Colombo in October

Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman, will fly non-stop to four more destinations in Europe and Asia in 2009. They include Frankfurt and Paris in the West and Colombo and Male in the East.

Peter Hill, Oman Air’s chief executive officer, said: “August marks the commencement of our wide-body fleet acquisition plan when we take delivery of the first of seven brand new Airbus A330 aircraft.

“With the introduction of these services we will be providing a massive increase in capacity from Europe to Oman, designed to boost the country’s rapidly growing appeal to the discerning traveller,” he said.

This year Oman Air will take delivery of two Airbus A330-200 aircraft in a two-class Business and Economy layout, and two Airbus A330-300 aircraft featuring First, Business and Economy classes.

Barry Brown, vice president commercial, said: “We will commence flights to Frankfurt on September 17 initially with six services per week and we will inaugurate services to Paris on October 11 with four flights per week. Sri Lanka and The Maldives will commence on October 12 with four weekly services offering convenient connections to not only Paris and Frankfurt but also our daily London Heathrow flights.” (TradeArabia News Service)
