Emirates
picks Spore to launch first A380 Southeast Asia
flights
Emirates Airline is to launch Airbus A380 flights between
Dubai and Singapore in December 2009. The initial schedule
will run four times weekly, it will be Emirates
first A380 service to Southeast Asia.
Emirates state-of-the-art A380 has the capacity
to carry 489 passengers with 14 First Class Private
Suites, set in a 1-2-1 configuration; 76 fully-flat
seats in the Business Class cabin with a 1-2-1 configuration;
and 399 Economy Class seats in a 3-4-3 configuration.
Stephen Chu, Country Manager for Singapore and Brunei
said, Dubai is a very popular destination in our
network and we have enjoyed strong growth in passenger
load over the years. Our A380 will provide additional
capacity of close to 2,000 seats per week in the worlds
most advanced aircraft. This means that more Singapore
travellers can enjoy the ultimate travelling experience
on their way to visit the exciting city of Dubai. We
look forward to welcoming our passengers onboard our
state-of-the-art A380.
The Emirates A380 offers onboard shower spas in the
First Class cabin, where travellers can freshen up in
a shower cubicle with water temperature control and
products from Emirates premium spa brand, Timeless
Spa.
First and Business Class passengers can also enjoy a
relaxing time at Emirates onboard lounge, where
a fully-stocked bar containing premium-brand liqueurs,
spirits, hot and cold canapés, and snacks are
readily served.
Other features include the award-winning ICE (information,
communication and entertainment) system which features
more than 1,200 inflight entertainment channels, sms
and email facilities as well as seat-to-seat calling.
Each cabin is also fitted with a unique mood lighting
system to help passengers combat the effects of jet
lag.
In addition to current services to New York, London,
Sydney and Auckland, Emirates A380 will make its
first commercial journey from Dubai to Seouls
Incheon International Airport in November this year.
