Special offer to woo Japanese tourists to Lanka

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has joined SriLankan Airlines in presenting the country as an attractive destination for Japanese visitors.

This promotion takes place in the wake of the relaxation of the travel advisory against Sri Lanka by the Japanese Government in recent times. The special offer, activated from February to June 2009, will bring together SriLankan Airlines offering a special rate for air passage, as part of the promotion. Endorsed by officials of the Japanese market, several travel itineraries have also been finalised in coordination with Sri Lankan Airlines.

A series of feature articles in print and electronic media will also add value to the promotion and create further awareness about Sri Lanka and what it can offer.

The Japanese traveller has always found Sri Lanka’s Ayurrveda, tea, World Heritage Sites, wild life, and beaches unique and attractive, and with the recent relaxation of the travel advisory and the special promotional packages on offer, a heightened interest in travel to Sri Lanka is predicted.
