Maldives Construction Fair 2009 in April

The Maldives Construction Fair this year will see the participation of a sixteen (16) member delegation in Construction and related product/service sectors from Sri Lanka from April 20 to 22, 2009 courtesy of the Sri Lanka–Maldives Bilateral Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
This mission hopes to facilitate the establishment and further expansion of business contacts by taking into consideration the advantages of entering the Maldivian market. The Sri Lanka–Maldives Bilateral Business Council has 105 registered members encompassing various product/service sectors.
The Council pavilion at the Maldives Construction Fair 2009 will be used as the venue for one to one business meetings in addition to showcasing promotional material and samples of a wide array of products mission members wish to promote in Maldives. Along with organizing business matchmaking sessions with the Maldivian business community with the assistance of the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Sri Lanka High Commission in Maldives, arrangements have been made to organize networking sessions with the relevant Government Ministries/Departments such as the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade, Maldives Association of Construction Industry and the Foreign Investment Services Bureau.
This would be an ideal opportunity for delegates to permeate into favourable Malaysian markets through the Sri Lanka–Maldives Bilateral Business Council. “The Maldivian Government is very keen on the development of Tourism and Infrastructure. Members who participate in this Construction Fair will be exposed to many potential business opportunities,” said Jayantissa Kehelpannala, President of the Sri Lanka–Maldives Bilateral Business Council.
Samantha Ranatunge, Chief Operating Officer, Chemical Industries (Colombo) PLC and the Vice President of the Sri Lanka–Maldives Bilateral Business Council will be the Mission Leader whilst Ms. Lilakshini de Mel, Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be co-ordinating the mission to Maldives for the second time since the inauguration of the Council in May 2007.
