FCCISL launches book on “Key Persons’ Forum Collection of Speeches 2008”

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) in its quest to promote and expand trade and industry with special focus on micro, small and medium (SMEs) teamed up with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNSt) of Germany  and formulated a Networking Forum for Public Private Policy Dialogue – a monthly high level policy forum of Small and Medium Enterprise Developers (SMED).


The FCCISL book on “Key Persons’ Forum Collection of Speeches 2008” being handed over to Dr Sarath Amunugama by Sagarica Delgoda, Country Representative, Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Foundation (FNSt) in Sri Lanka.

A part of SMED activity – the Key Persons’ Forum (KPF) is a business/public awareness programme on issues of business, economy and the society. KPF provides a platform for eminent persons to discuss and share experience on policy perspectives face-to-face on matters of interest to private sector.
KPF aims at entrepreneurs, corporate heads, bankers, consultants, legal community, company secretaries and other representative of the private sector, professionals, academics and civil society.
Once a month during the year 2008 the following addressed the Forum: Karu Jayasuriya as Minister of Public Administration; Prof A D V S Indraratne, President, Sri Lanka Economic Association; Justice Ameer Ismail, Chairman, Bribery Commission; Udayasiri Kariyawasam as Chairman, Ceylon Electricity Board; Dr P B Jayasundera as Chairman, SriLankanAirlines; Felix Perera, Minister of Fishieries; Prof G L Peiris, Minister of Export and International Trade and Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources.
While continuing the KPF in 2009 on schedule, the climax of the 2008 activities has been the compiling of all these speeches and presenting them as a publication of FCCISL.
At a ceremony held at the FCCISL auditorium the first copy of the book “Key Persons’ Forum Collection of Speeches 2008” was presented to Dr Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs by Kosala Wickramanayake, President, FCCISL.
Wickramanayake has indicated that KPF is an intellectual stimulant to the private sector which enables it to be alive and conscious in matters that affect not only its operational environment but also in a broader sense competitiveness in the midst of many challenges.
