FIFA orders minute’s silence at WC qualifiers

ZURICH, (AFP) - FIFA is asking teams to observe a minute’s silence before their World Cup qualifying matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, as a mark of respect for the victims of the stadium stampede in Ivory Coast.
Nineteen fans were killed and more than 130 injured in the chaos outside the 35,000-capacity stadium when Ivory Coast played against Malawi in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
