Below strength Lankan shuttle team for China

The Sri Lankan badminton team scheduled to leave for the Sudirman Cup badminton championships in China on Friday will not be at full strength as four high ranking shuttlers have been omitted from the side.
The five-member team of three men and two women comprises Hasitha Chanaka, Nuwan Hettiarachchi and RS Dahanayaka amongst the men and, Thilini Jayasinghe and Achini Ratnasiri for the women’s events.
Sri Lanka men’s number one shuttler Niluka Karunaratne and his two brothers Diluka and Dinuka along with women’s number one player Chandrika de Silva have been overlooked for the tournament which will be held from May 10-17. [DR]
