AVI fires up cricketing passions with new range of gear
AVI, one of Sri Lanka’s leading sports brands, has launched a full line of professional-grade cricket gear accompanied by a support programme for Under-19 players. It’s the latest move by AVI which, within the short space of three years, has firmly established itself as an immensely popular and widely respected local performance brand. It has done so by providing world-class professional equipment at affordable prices and supporting the nation’s passion for sport.

AVI takes great pride in its new cutting-edge range of cricket gear. Their specialised designs and top quality materials have helped Sri Lankan cricketers move into a new league of performance. The AVI Cricket Gear range includes the King Hitter English willow bat; the Blaster and Recorder Kashmir willow bats; youth bats in a variety of smaller sizes; and a full complement of international standard pads, gloves, and helmets.
In keeping with its mission of nurturing Sri Lankan sport, AVI Cricket Gear was launched with an innovative programme. A group of Under-19 cricketers were carefully selected for their prodigious skills and talents. These promising young players will be provided with AVI cricket equipment for one year, allowing them achieve the fullest potential in their cricketing careers.
The chosen Under-19 cricketers are: Dayan Munasinghe – Maliyadeva, Udara Jayasundra – Ananda, Chathura Peris – St. Peter’s, Denuwan Rajakaruna – Mahinda, Ruwindu Shaman – Ananda, and Lahiru Jayaratne – Christchurch/Matale.
The AVI Cricket Gear launch event was held on the 5th of March at the Colts Grounds, Havelock Road. It was presided over by Rohan Somawansa (general manager marketing D. Samson and Sons (Pvt) Ltd), Roger Wijesuriya (U-19 national coach), and MW Dilshan de Silva (general secretary Sri Lankan Schools Cricket Association).
