Singha Cement helps IDPs

The Italcementi Group, one of the largest privately owned cement producers in the world; in fact the 5th largest, who commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1998, came forward to help the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) with unprecedented aid, both by way of cash as well as kind.

Managing Director of ICT, Colin Nelson, said that such had been the response from their staff as well as dealers, that they had run out of space.
“I was very proud of the manner in which the staff at ICT, as well as our dealers and suppliers came forward to help the IDPs in their time of need without any hesitation; in fact there was a distinctly community spirit that prevailed” said Nelson.
The Company known locally as International Cement Traders [Pvt] Ltd. [ ICT ] markets its own brands of cement, available both in bulk as well as in 50 kilo bags which conform to international and national standards, namely Singha and Italcementi .
