Journalist Senaka de Silva makes his final journey today

Daily Mirror senior journalist Senaka de Silva who earned a name for himself as a crime journalist passed away after a brief illness Monday morning. Senaka was known for his ‘Police Log’ which was exclusively published in the Daily Mirror for over ten years.
Senaka was known among his colleagues as a reporter with a great sense of commitment and humour.
He joined the Daily Mirror in 1999 and was attached to the now defunct Weekend Express as a correspondent.
He was well-known as a social worker in his village and played a leading role in organising the annual Sinhalese New Year festival. Senaka, who was 64 years old at the time of his demise, leaves behind his wife and daughter.
The funeral will take place at his residence “Kirana,” Immilla, Mahagama (via Agalawatta) today.
