Naushad wins Colombo District Snooker C’ship

WM Naushad of ‘The Cue’ emerged as the champion of the Colombo District tournament in the 57th National Snooker Championship held at the Billiards and Snooker Association headquarters in Reid Avenue. Naushad beat HN Thillakaratna of YMBA by 4 to 1 frames of which the scores read as 62/38, 73/47, 63/30, 35/62 and 63/25. The third place of the tournament went to MR Ismath of AAC who beat Shabeer Hazari of SSC by 2 frames to 1. Eight players from this tournament qualified for the All Island segment which will begin on Friday (June 12)
