People’s Bank strongest banking brand says Brand Finance

People’s Bank, the “Best Loved Bank” was recently awarded the Brand Finance Brand Rating certification, with an “AA-” rating. This rating is the strongest amongst all banks that are operating in the country, and is an acknowledgement of the long term brand building efforts of the bank.
The Brand Rating which is annually carried out by Brand Finance and which is now in its 5th year, is published in LMD’s Brands Annual, which is a much looked forward review of Sri Lanka’s top brands. This brand rating is based on publicly available data as well as market research.

A brand rating is like a company credit rating, which provides investors with the future outlook for the brand and indicates the ability of the brand to attract future revenue for the business. An “AA-“ brand certification therefore provides assurance to the stakeholders of People’s Bank, that the management does indeed fully understand the true potential of its brand.

It also enables us to further strengthen ourselves and focus our efforts towards improved performance in this highly competitive market. The brand can indeed play a significant role in this endeavor. This study also shows that government enterprises can compete effectively with the private sector and emerge on top.”
