Three police teams to probe Pattipola triple murder

Three special police teams have been deployed to probe into the triple tragedy at Pattipola while the search for the 4 year old son continues.
Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Fernando yesterday said that these special teams were engaged in investigations that included talking to suspects and recording statements. No arrests had been made yet but he was confident that the extra personnel would make quick inroads to solving the murders.
Three women of the same family were found dead inside a store room close to their house at Osu Uyana in Nuwara Eliya on Monday morning. It was reported that the bodies of T.G.A. Somawathie (60), H.M. Mallika (28) and R.M. Himnimi Pumali (10) were found in the room while Mallika’s 3-year-old son Rohitha Bandara was nowhere to be found. Her husband R.M. Chandratilleka, discovered the bodies the day after returning to Nuwara Eliya. Finding his home closed with no sign of his family he had searched for them and found the three bodies.
