CR – CH game for
Hadji Omar trophy

A rugby encounter between CR & FC/CH & FC is to be played for a trophy in memory of Hadji Omar, a great ruggerite of CR & FC who died on June 22. According to news this trophy will be made at the conclusion of the second round game between these two clubs.
It is a fine tribute a great player, who gave his best for the red shirts, form 1965 to 1974. This suggestion was first offered for the CR-Kandy game, but – the hill country club plays against CR & FC for a trophy in memory of Dr. K.B. Sangakara one-time President of Kandy SC and Ceylon Rugby Football Union.
Every ruggerite knows the history of Hadji Omar’s rugby career. He led the CR & FC in 1970 and was also the President of the Club, Committee Member, President and Life member. Before he led the club he captained the country, at the 1970 Rugby Asiad.
