Foundation Reach out
to Budding Cricketers

In an endeavor to identify and reach out to the aspiring cricketers at the grass root level, Coca-Cola collaborated with the Aravinda de Silva Cricket Foundation to organise the Coca-Cola Cricket Pathway initiative. The entire initiative was organised to promote cricket and identify young cricketing talent across the country. As part of the initiative 10 cricket camps were organised, over a period of one and a half years and the camps witnessed the participation of over 700 young cricketers. The Super Camp which highlighted the completion of 10 camps under the Coca-Cola Cricket Pathway initiative was organised from the 26th - 28th June, 2009 at the Prince of Wales Grounds in Moratuwa showcasing the cricket skills of 70 selected players from the cricket camps organised across Sri Lanka. The best 70 players selected from the entire Coca-Cola Cricket Pathway initiative played six T20 matches from which 5 super players were selected for their exceptional talent and cricket skills.
The Coca-Cola Cricket Pathway initiative to discover young and budding cricket talent among the grass root level included the participation of players from various locations across the country including Colombo, Galle, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Jaffna, Batticoloa, Trincomalee and Akkaraipattu. The young cricketers were trained by the Aravinda de Silva Cricket Foundation including Sri Lankan cricketing legends such as Roshan Mahanama.
