Manik new chief of
Editors Guild
Veteran journalist and by far the longest serving editor Manik de Silva was recently elected as the President of the Editors Guild.
De Silva, who is the Editor of the Sunday Island, succeeded Sunday Times Editor Sinha Ratnatunga who relinquished the post after serving two years.
Lakbimba Irida Sangrahaya Editor Sundara Nihatamani de Mel was elected as the Secretary.
The following office bearers were elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Editors Guild which was held at the Sri Lanka Press Institute recently.

Executive Committee Siri Ranasinghe (Lankadeepa), Mohanlal Piyadasa (Irudina), R. Prabhagan (Virakesari), Tillakarathna Kuruwita Bandara (Siyatha) and Nisthar Cassim (The Bottom Line).
