ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 logo unveiled

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 event logo was unveiled at a ceremony in Mumbai on Tuesday. The launch function was attended by heroes of past ICC Cricket World Cups Clive Lloyd, Aravinda de Silva, Michael Bevan, Dilip Vengsarkar and Balwinder Singh Sandhu.
Designed by Australian creative firm Witekite, one of 12 companies from all over the world that submitted concepts, the logo, in the shape of a cricket ball, is intended to reflect all that is best about cricket in the sub-continent – colour, movement and action. And the design is also based on the idea of the supporters and players from the host nations, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, coming together and joining the rest of the world to create a special event.
