Zahira, Colombo launches swimming pool project
The much felt need of a swimming pool for Zahira College, Colombo 10 will see its dawn with the an event aiming to raise funds for the project taking place this Saturday 15th August at Hotel Hilton, Grand Ball Room at 7.00 pm under the theme ‘Let’s Pool’. The swimming pool project is initiated by the Old Boy’s Association and the event will also be an opportunity for fellowship with unity to help to accomplish the project.
The swimming pool will be housed in a three storey building with all modern amenities whilst meeting with international standards. The main pool will be 25 metres long and 16.5 metres wide whilst the beginner’s pool will be 15 metres long and 6 metres wide.
The complex will also consist of a visitor’s wash room, male and female changing rooms and beginner’s changing rooms.
An innovative feature of the swimming pool will be that it will consist of a specially designed screen meant for ladies events.
The complex will be ideally located with access through DR Wijewardena Mawatha, Darley Road, Maradana with ample parking space.
The organising committee invites all Old Zahirians and well wishers to rally round them to make this much needed swimming pool project a success through generous donations and contributions.
