Down but not enough
Interest rates, a major throttle to companies and key to spur a quicker recovery in the economy, are declining but not fast enough.
Perhaps taking a softer view Central Bank yesterday remained passive by not revising downwards its policy rates, a move which surprised financial and business circles.

Credit going
cheap?
Is credit going cheap? Most corporates who borrow would say not quite with even the Central Bank admitting interest rates haven’t come down as fast it should but for cash-strapped consumers there is zero credit now extended for 2 years.
Standard Chartered Bank last week unveiled a unique scheme where its Credit Cardholders can purchase goods at Abans Elite, Damro, Modern Homes, Singer Mega, Softlogic Max and Softlogic Lifestyle Electronics at 0% interest and repay in 18 or 24 months.
