Sri Lanka were left to rue on missed opportunities as India pocketed the Compaq Cup tri-series one-day tournament with a 46-run win at the R Premadasa Stadium under lights on Monday.
“We didn’t bowl and field well and we took a few wrong options when chasing the total.

The way Sachin (Tendulkar) batted and the way we bowled and fielded contributed a lot to the result,” said Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara.
“The batsmen having got the starts should have taken on the responsibility to go and make big scores because sometimes you’re in form and sometimes not. When you get these starts you’ve got to maximize it because you got to be responsible for your side and to yourself at the end of the day.
