Ishan defies Royal

Leg-spinner Maneesha Thantrigoda took a match bag of 9 wickets for 91 (3/32 & 6/59) and young fast-bowler Imran Khan (5/18) claimed a five wicket haul but Royal were deprived of a win by Mohamed Ishan’s heroics (51 and 61) for Zahira in their under 19 school cricket match which ended in an exciting draw at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Joes fall to spin
St. Joseph’s dismissed for 194 in their first innings came back hard to capture six Kalutara MV wickets for 124 runs at the end of the first day of their under 19 schools cricket match played at the Kalutara esplanade yesterday. The Joes batting collapsed to the leg-spin of Savith Priyan who captured 4 wickets for 25 runs. Kushan Samithjith held the Kalutara batting from falling apart with an unbeaten 40 by the close. The match continues today.
