After opting to bat on a dry pitch in Chittagong, the tourists crashed to the fifth lowest total in one-day international history.
Seamer Nazmul Hossain (2-10) and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak (2-10) shared two wickets apiece to reduce Zimbabwe to 8-4 in the sixth over.
Left-arm spinners Enamul Haque Jr (3-16) and Shakib Al Hasan (3-8) then took over as chief tormentors, grabbing three wickets each to bowl out the visitors in 24.5 overs.
Opening pair Tamim Iqbal (22) and Junaid Siddique (8) took the Tigers to 33-0 in reply before Zimbabwe spinners Ray Price (2-5) and Graeme Cremer exploited sharp turn to share four wickets in the space of 17 balls.
Raqibul Hasan (9no) took Bangladesh across the winning line from the fifth delivery of the 12th over with a huge six off leg-spinner Cremer (2-11).
Bangladesh now hold an unassailable 3-1 advantage ahead of the final match of the series, also in Chittagong, on Thursday.
