Lanka win in last ball thriller

The jubilant Sri Lanka team with the trophy

Brilliant batting by Kithruwan Vithanage who stroked a valiant unbeaten 75 off 82 deliveries guided Sri Lanka to an exciting one wicket last ball win over Pakistan in the Tri-Nation Under-19 final played at the P Sara Oval yesterday. Vithanage who single-handedly guided Sri Lanka to an unimaginable win took the man-of-the-match award.

The match turned out to be a nail-biter in the end. In the penultimate delivery of the match the team scores were deadlocked at 209 and Sri Lanka needed one run for victory with their last pair at the wicket.
