Did Sri Lanka approach Tom Moody?

Did Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) approach former national coach Tom Moody? Moody quit as Western Australia’s coach last week after a disappointing three seasons in charge of his home state and was again in the mix for any international appointments that arises in the near future.

According to news reaching ‘The Bottom Line’ from Australia, SLC has shown an interest in him. Moody left the Sri Lanka coaching role to take up the Western Australia job soon after the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean. He is currently coach of Kings XI Punjab for whom two leading Sri Lanka cricketers are contracted – national captain Kumar Sangakkara (who is also captain of Kings XI Punjab) and ex-captain Mahela Jayawardene during whose reign Moody was coach of the national team.
During Moody’s tenure as coach Sri Lanka’s cricketing stocks rose high with the team entering the World Cup final.
