FACETS SRI LANKA 2010 will offer new opportunities for the gem and jewellery industry this year as frontrunners in the global gem trade confirm participation at Sri Lanka’s only international gem and jewellery exhibition.
This year’s FACETS SRI LANKA 2010 will serve as a platform for leading gemstone traders in emerging economies such as India, Russia and China to start sourcing from Sri Lanka, as well as to explore market opportunities in Hong Kong, Burma and Iraq as they arrive in anticipation of sealing trade links with the Sri Lanka industry.

“This year’s FACETS exhibition offers the local industry a very good opportunity to venture into newer markets such as India, Russia, China and Turkey, in addition to the traditional gem buying countries such as US, Hong Kong and Europe,” says Chairman of Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association, Deshabandu Macky Hashim.
India and China have emerged as strong contenders in the global gem and jewellery industry despite a global recession and its related setbacks.
