Sri Lanka reelected to UNESCAP’s ICT Committee chairmanship

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has garnered recognition as the ‘Most Favourite Sri Lankan English Website 2010’, ousting over 8,000 LK domains to clinch the top spot in this category. The competition for ‘The Most Favourite Sri Lankan Website Award’, organised by LK domain registry and hosted for the second consecutive year, saw web contenders vying for the top spot in vernacular and English language categories, the awards ceremony of which was held recently at the Jubilee Room, Galle Face Hotel. Etisalat and hSenid Mobile announced the commercialisation of their breakthrough Mobile Application Eco-System ‘AppZone,’ enabling all Etisalat users to download applications that are useful and important for them in day-to-day information sourcing and entertainment.
